The Summer J-Camp Family Handbook contains important information including policies, procedures, kosher-style lunch suggestions, and program specifics. Please take a moment to review the handbook to best prepare your family for camp.
J-Camp will transfer your child to their enrichment classes after camp on the Campus and bring them back to their late stay program saving your family valuable time. Look for enrichment classes in the JCC monthly Center Peace newsletter.

My son walked away wanting more! He has attended other camps, but the JCC by far, met his needs and helped him grow."

Each camper must bring a kosher-style lunch every day. Suggestions for what to pack can be found in the J-Camp Family Handbook. Lunches are kept inside, but are not refrigerated. Campers are not permitted to purchase food from the vending machines during the camp day or purchase lunch on field trips. Campers are provided with a daily snack; parents are encouraged to send additional snacks for their child as they wish.
To ensure a safe and secure camp setting, parents or a parent designee (adults over 16 only) of campers in grades K-4 are required to walk campers in and out of the facility and must sign in/out their children each day. Campers in fifth grade and above may sign themselves in/out during camp arrival/dismissal times (with a signed contract), but may not sign for younger campers. After 9:30am, all campers must be escorted into the building.
Camp Hours: J-Camp runs from 9am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. See extended care section for more information on early/late stay.
Camper Age: All Summer J-Camps are for children entering grades K-10 as of Fall 2019. For more information about programming for children six weeks to five years of age, please call 210-302-6846 or visit the ECD website.
Camp with Friends: Part of the fun of summer camp is making new friends; however, if your child has a friend they would like to be placed with in camp, please note the friend’s name at the time of your registration. Where space and age requirements permit, we will do our best to accommodate mutual requests.
Camp T-shirts: All campers will receive a commemorative camp T-shirt during their first week of camp.
